This weekend’s big show down was in Barcelona, where this season’s second Clásico took place. This can definitely be seen in this weekend’s boot spots, where we there are a total of four spots from the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) – Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Silverware Cristiano Ronaldo’s newest signature boot is inspired the all the silverware that big players compete for, of which CR7 has a lot of on his shelf at home. They did however not help him any closer to more silverware, even though he did score once in the El Clásico.

Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) – adidas f50 Messi.10.1 Pibe de Barr10 Lionel Messi gave his signature boots their first run out in the mid-week and naturally also whipped them out for yesterday’s El Clásico. They ended up producing a good deal more magic than Cristiano’s new signature boots.

Luis Suarez (FC Barcelona) – adidas f50 adizero Haters Pack Red (Leather) Luis Suarez went back from the Tattoo Pack to the Haters Pack during the weekend and you could imagine he’s very happy he did that, as he can now write ‘Match winner in the El Clásico’ on his CV. This time round he wore the leather model. What’s behind that choice we could speculate…

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) – adidas f50 adizero Haters Pack White/Silver The Spanish sports magazine AS didn’t even bother rating his performance yesterday. We will give him a rating based on his choice of boots and here he scored a perfect 10/10, because he finally hopped in the long expected white/silver model, which matches Real Madrid’s set perfectly. That it doesn’t seem to be reflecting in his play, is something we will let others deal with…

Diego Costa (Chelsea) – adidas f50 adizero Haters Pack Red (Custom) Here is definitely a pair of football boots that are designed specifically to the player’s needs. Diego Costa has had adidas make him a pair of f50 adizero with – stay sharp here – a leather upper and design from the newest generation, with a Sprintframe and Speedtraxion 2.0. Shesh, talk about a picky customer…

Ilkay Gündogan (Borussia Dortmund) – adidas f50 adizero Haters Pack Red (Leather) Here Gündogan is a little easier to deal with. He is adidas’ newest signing and after having played in a pair of blackouted Magista Obra for some while now, he is now ready to show off his new f50 adizero.

García Matías Pérez (San Jose Earthquakes) – adidas f50 adizero Haters Pack (Women) This colourway was actually designed especially for women, but García Matías Pérez looked like he loved the design so much that he picked it anyway. And it really does fit his kit very well, so if the fit is good, why not?

Luke DeVere (Brisbane Roar) – adidas Predator LZ White/Blue/Yellow Going a little old school, with Luke DeVere, who turned up in a pair of Predator LZ from 2012. The Predator has gone through some serious changes since them, but DeVere looks to still enjoy this model. Which Predator generation is your favourite?

Damien Perrinelle (New York Red Bulls) – adidas f50 adizero TRX Yellow/Black And before we go back to the future, we will look at another football boot from the past and here it’s Damien Perrinelle from New York delivering the cool spot. He wore the third generation from the adizero collection, which started back in 2010.

Angel Di Maria (Manchester United) – adidas prototype It’s becoming a very frequent segment in our boot spots, having one of adidas’ prototypes. They are almost everywhere! Last man to hop in a pair of adidas’ prototypes is Angel Di Maria. There is plenty of reason to start getting excited…

Another week, another round of boot spots. El Clásico’ definitely stole the show this time round. We also thought it was fun seeing a male player wearing the women’s model. What do you think about this week’s spots?
