While Liverpool are fighting hard to keep in touch with the top of the Premier League, New Balance can no longer hold it back. Today, at a true fan event on The Kop, they could present the shirts that the Liverpool stars will wear for next season. And as always, there are plenty of opinions on the design…

The inspiration for the first Liverpool shirt since the switch from Warrior to New Balance is hard to criticise. The American sports brand have tried to visualise the mosaic that is created when all the reds fans are standing on the Kop with their flags and scarves. Fan or not, it is a very special picture that the Liverpool fans create when they are singing “You’ll never walk alone” just before kick off.

We asked a couple of our own kopites for their opinion…

Malene from our Dutch customer service has always been a big Liverpool fan, however she does question the New Balance design: “I’m glad that they have kept the classic elements such as the flames and the ‘96’ in the back of the neck. But the design doesn't really speak to me. I’m not really into the collar or the checkered design.”

Patrick, who is in our international customer service, is on the other hand very excited: “Classic, stylish look - will definitely buy. I love our new sponsor. YNWA!”
