Ever thought about how many players turn into managers after their playing career is over? Well, for a bit of fun here at the office we began wondering about it and tried testing our football knowledge by seeing how many we could name. There were some serious players among the ones we could name of the top of our head, so we decided to put together a starting line-up of the best players that became managers. Check out the starting 11 by clicking the picture above here and read along to see if you agree with our choices.

If I had a time machine, so we could remove a few wrinkles, and in some of their cases that they lost a few pounds, I would probably fancy this side's chances of winning some trophies. I mean apart from David James, who was the only goalkeeper apart from Russia’s manager Slutsky (No idea if he was any good) we could find, the team is almost World Cup and Champions League winners exclusively.

Our list of players turned managers also shows that basically if you’re from Holland, or if you at some point played for Barcelona, you’re going to become a manager somewhere - guaranteed. Six out of the best players we could name fit into that bracket in any case and we could have probably found a few more Dutch attacking midfielders.
