Another week has passed and we have had the pleasure of watching a lot of the best football from around the world. We saw some interesting boot spots and it is our duty and pleasure to provide you with the best selection. We are talking boot changes, old classics and charity colourways check it out right here.
John Hutchinson (Central Coast Mariners) Pélé Sports 1970 White/Red We have crossed the globe, all the way to Australia to find you some very exciting boot spots. Here, we spotted John Hutchinson wearing the highly elegant and rarely seen Pélé Sports 1970, which is a classic kangaroo leather boot from the football legend. The tongue is a nice touch.
Osama Malik (Adelaide United) Pélé Sports Trinity 3E SL Black/Neon We also spotted a more recent model from Pélé Sports. Again we are in Australia, and we saw this fast gentleman from Adelaide, who was wearing the super light Trinity 3E SL Black/Neon. It is nice to spot some of the smaller brands on the market, on the feet of the pros. This game was between Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets. And Newcastle Jets have a special player that we also know and enjoy...
Emile Heskey (Newcastle Jets) Nike Tiempo Legend IV Clash White/Black Custom Oh yes, it is no other than striker Emile Heskey. This summer he made the move from the Premier League in England and all the way to the land down under. As we know him, the big striker was spotted wearing a pair of Nike Tiempo Legend IV, which is the collection he has preferred throughout his career. But, as a professional like Heskey, you have certain advantages, which he doesn't fail to make use of. Therefore, he has customised his Legend IV with the classic conical stud system from the Legend III.
John Mitchell (Newcastle Jets) Nike Air Zoom Total90 White/Blue We found another very interesting boot spot with Heskey's Australian team mate. A boot that is highly popular among the footballers in our office; we are talking about the Nike AZ T90 II, and it looks like John Mitchell agrees. He has managed to maintain his pair well enough to still be able to use them today. We are very impressed hats off!
Fredy Montero (Seattle Sounders FC) Adidas Predator LZ Pink Tribute Edition White/Pink As you may have heard, October has been dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. The American MLS has decided to support the charity via custom boots. In cooperation with Adidas, various players have gotten a unique pair of boots with pink colour symbolising the charity. Here is an example on the feet of Seattle player Fredy Montero; very nice boots in our opinion. What do you think?
Chris Pontius (DC United) Adidas F50 Adizero Pink Tribute Edition White/Red/Pink We saw another pair of tribute boots in action, As the capitol team took on Toronto FC. Chris Pontius was wearing a pair of Adidas F50 Adizero Pink Tribute Edition in a special White/Red/Pink colourway. We really like this colourway, which is one out of four special tribute editions. Have you been active in the campaign to fight breast cancer this October?
Kevin-Prince Boateng (AC Milan) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC Retro/Total Orange/Challenge Red Sunday was a feast of fantastic football, as no less than three of the big derbies in European football were on the menu. PSG visited Marseille in France, El Clasico in Spain, and in Italy we had the Derby d'Italia. AC Milan hosted Inter, and on the feet of the Milan number 10 we saw a pair of the new Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC Retro/Total Orange/Challenge Red. Prince had styled his Vapors with some orange laces to spice them up a little.
Andrea Pirlo (Juventus) Nike Tiempo Legend IV ACC Soar/White The Italian midfield maestro was a great experience during the EURO 2012 and has managed to keep the very high level since. He found the goal in the match against AC Siena on Sunday, with a sneaky free-kick strike under the wall. He made the strike wearing his Nike Tiempo Legend IV ACC Elite Soar/White, a very exclusive edition, as the new Legend IV is not produced in a Elite edition, unless you are a professional, of course.
Christiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC Retro/Total Orange/Challenge Red Él Clasico went down on Sunday, and the historic clash of the two big teams did not fail to deliver football of the highest level. One of the biggest profiles of the match was Christiano Ronaldo, who scored two goals at Camp Nou, and is now noted for no less than 8 goals just in his last three games. He scored the goals wearing his Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC Retro/Total Orange/Challenge Red, and together with these goalscoring boots, he might very well be a candidate for this years Ballon d'Or.
Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) Adidas F50 Adizero Silver/Orange On the other side of Él Clasico the Argentinian magician lead his team, as he took charge of the goalscoring. Similar to Ronaldo, Messi found the goal twice and showed very good play in general. As we have gotten used to, Messi was wearing his Adidas F50 Adizero, and now in the new Silver/Orange colourway. In just over two months the Ballon d'Or will be awarded Is it going to Messi? Or Ronaldo? Or maybe a third player?
Joe Allen (Liverpool) Nike CTR360 Maestri III ACC White/Volt/Court Green Finally the day came, where the Welsh midfielder switched out his Nike CTR360 Maestri II Clash White/Blue. Together with the rest of the Maestri players, Allen debuted the new colourway over the weekend, and we believe that that he has really taken a liking to the White/Volt/Court Green colourway. Similar to Fernando Torres, it seems that Joe Allen very much prefers his boots to be white.
Rickie Lambert (Southampton) Nike CTR 360 Maestri II Clash White/Blue It might be that Joe Allen has just passed on his old boots, as we, in the Southampton match against Fulham, saw a pair of boots similar to Allen's old boots. We spotted these on the feet of a gentleman, who we had not predicted would change his boots. Lambert made the switch from one clash colourway to another. A week back he found the goal wearing a pair of Nike Tiempo Legend IV Clash White/Black and now we spotted him wearing a pair of Nike CTR360 Maestri II Clash White/Blue. Maybe he is just very much into the Clash models? Or did he snatch Joe Allens boots?
Steven Caulker (Tottenham) Puma King Finale White/Red/Blue The 20 year old defender was on a loan to Swansea last season, where he impressed most people. The big talent is now back with the Spurs and was able to give his team the lead as he found the goal against Aston Villa. Although he is a very young player, he does not feel the need to draw attention to himself by wearing flashy colourways, and we spotted him wearing the rather legendary Puma King Finale in the rather subtle White/Red/Blue colourway.
Tom Cleverly (Manchester United) Adidas Predator LZ UCL Black/Silver/Neon This was the man behind this rounds goal in the Premier League. The young midfield talent had spotted that the Newcastle keeper, Steve Harper, had moved a little out of goal and from a good distance he nicely placed the ball in the far corner. The goal ensured The Red Devils a 3-0 win, with goals also from Johnny Evans and Patrice Evra.
Danny Welbeck (Manchester United) Adidas F50 Adizero Silver/Orange Another interesting boot change was on the menu during the weekend, and a rather surprising one. The young attacker from Man. United has been flirting a little with Adidas boots at previous training sessions, although it looked like he had decided to stay with Nike, we spotted him wearing a pair of these for training. What do you think of his boot switch? What suits him better; Adizero or T90?
Jonny Howson (Norwich) Adidas Adipure 11Pro SL White/Gold We always enjoy spotting a pair of Adipure IV SL or Adipure 11Pro SL in a match. Howson from Norwich wasn't able to prevent a 4-1 loss to Chelsea, despite his elegant boot choice. This spot is even more interesting once we take a glance at the stud system of his 11Pro SL boots. As you might be able to tell from the pictures, the boots are equipped with a mixed stud system. This boot is not originally produced with a mixed stud system, therefore we conclude that Adidas must have treated the midfielder with this custom model.
European football will be on hold for the next 14 days, in order to make room for the national teams, but we are sure that the national team matches will provide us with some exciting boot spots as well. What do you think of this weeks boot spots? Feel free do drop a comment in the field just below.
