Adidas and FCK present: New 3rd Kit designed by Wood Wood

FC Copenhagen have just unveiled their new 3. shirt, that'll already get its début on the 25th of October. The design has been left to the talented chief designer and creative executive from Wood Wood, Karl-Oskar Olsen. It's a perfect coming together of the Away-shirt, the Royal family and Karl-Oskar's bold design. We are already quite impressed by it, but do you like this new direction?

When the Cities Club takes to the field, on the 25th of October, in an away game in the UEFA Europa League, against Vfb Stuttgart from the Bundesliga, F.C.K's players will be wearing the new, specially designed shirt from Adidas. The kit is the result of Karl-Oskar Olsen, Chief-designer from Copenhagen based lifestyle brand, Wood Woods, hard work. How the creative process has taken place and how the shirt design has evolved, you can find out in the video above.

The Danish designer was immensely proud, for getting the opportunity to design the shirt and the end-result, is one to be proud of too.

“As a man from Copenhagen and FCK-fan it is naturally a great and unique honour to get the chance to design one of the clubs kits. No less the third-kit, that is the secret kit, that the club only plays with in the European games and on special Occasions”. Says Karl-Oskar Olsen. “The new black kit, with the claret and sky-blue details, is simple and cool, exactly like an FCK-kit should be, if you ask me.”

Ulrich Scheibelein, country marketing manager from Adidas Denmark says the following about the collaboration: “FCK's third kit is a true Copenhagen-project. Karl-Oskar and Wood Wood represent the Danish capitals street culture, that we along with F.C Copenhagen wish the 3rd kit to express. With a combination of street fashion, fan culture and elite football we have chosen an exciting and untraditional approach, that represents both F.C. Copenhagen and Adidas' values.”

The design is based on the black away-shirt, that Karl-Oskar has always been a fan of. Add to that a bit of light blue as a perfect accent colour, inspired by its regal origin and finally the claret colour as the icing on the cake. The result is impressive and we can only agree with Ulrich Scheibeleins statement – It radiates the capitals street culture!

We applaud Adidas, for leaving the design to one of the urban-environments most appreciated contributors. It has given the shirt a completely unique, but still stylish style and you would expect the Lions of FCK to be quite pleased with it too.
