This is the fourth boot that Nike designs exclusively to the Portuguese superstar, and it is quite obvious that it has developed significantly since the first Safari model. This Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC CR7 takes us back to a more classic and elegant look, some might say very much in line with the person in question and his own development in the world of football.

Cristiano Ronaldo started out with crazy dribbles and solo runs, just as his first signature boot, the Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II Safari, which was launched in a crazy leopard inspired print, which encapsulated the essence of the player, then. The man himself has developed quite a lot since and today his style is very different. Elegant, classic and much more deliberate, yet still with a boyish touch and explosive speed that can trick any defender in the world. And ain't this also what the new Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC CR7 expresses?
Unlike the regular Vapor VIII models in the collection, this one has large Nike Swoosh logos both in the medial and the lateral side of the boot. This provides the boot with a very classic look and with the eye catching pink outsole and the interplay with the fresh blue colour, it is hard not to fall for it.
On the heel of the boot we see the newly designed Cristiano Ronaldo Love to Win, Hate to lose-logo, consisting of a heart and cross that are overlapping. The heart represents CR7's love for success and victory, while the cross symbolises pretty much the opposite; his hatred towards losing and failure. Very appropriately, it is carried out in a discrete golden colour, which is all that matters when the Portuguese enters the pitch.
The upper is the same as Nike used for the Vapor VIII Clash White/Red and the Vapor VIII Seaweed/Volt. It is a supple and super nice Teijin microfibre upper, which has been treated in a way that emulates leather. The only change is Nike's ACC technology (All Conditions Control) that has been added to the upper material during production, which improves your touch and ball grip in wet weather conditions.
The black classic colour, which covers the majority of the boot, is nicely broken by a flashy blue colour, which then fades into a sharp pink colour on the outsole. Despite its rather different look, it is actually equipped with the same sole as we know from the other Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII models. This just further encapsulates the essence of Cristiano Ronaldo, who despite being a footballer like many others, really cannot be compared to anyone else.
