Adidas Predator LZ SL Black/Purple - See the elegant beast here

We've today been treated to a gift from Adidas and that's why we can unveil yet another boot. It's the Adidas Predator LZ SL Black/Purple, that carries on the tendencies of slightly darker boots, that has been the hallmark of this round of launches. We will take a closer look at the ultra light beast right here, so you can see how it stands apart from it's “standard” namesake.

Adidas Predator LZ SL has landed in the one striking colourway after the other, but for the latest few models, the story has been a bit different. In a black/purple colourway, it carries a rather mystical and enigmatic aura and you cannot help, but feel drawn to the boot. What is it? It's surely not just another Predator LZ? No, it's not and that's what we will be taking a look at now.

One of the most apparent differences on the Adidas Predator LZ SL is the upper, where they have sacrificed the Hybrid Touch-upper, as to replace it with a Sprintskin-upper, like the one we know and love from the Adidas F50 Adizero. This is predominantly to bring down the weight to an impressive 211 grams, just 8 grams away from the formerly mentioned full blood speed-boot, the Adizero.

The upper has in the meantime been equipped with a number of the Lethal Zones, that are now synonymous with the Adidas Predator LZ. On the instep you can see the Drive-zone, that adds extra power to your shots and passes. Or as Adidas so elegantly put it:”Drive is a sledgehammer. Take a swing and nail that explosive long pass.”

On the medial-side they have opted to discard the Pass-zone, that with memory foam stabilised your passes. The area still has the same 3D-coating, that we know from the regular Predator, which gives you a tighter and sharper touch on the ball in style with what you get with an Adidas F50 Adizero. So if you want a boot, that weighs as much as a lightweight, but with control and strike-capabilities like a predator, then here's your next boot.

The lateral-side of the boot, the dribble-zones size has been reduced, but it still grips the ball, when you challenge your opponent with cheeky touches and dribbling endeavours, like the boot encourages. You'll feel quicker on your feet, because of the lighter weight, but you're never in doubt; you've got a pair of carnivorous-beasts on your feet and they're hungry for goals.

The First Touch-Zone has, like the Dribble-zone, been made smaller without losing it's effect, so theirs still no excuse for not mastering the first touch. This is also helped by you getting a sensationally sharp touch on the ball, as a result of the millimetre-thin Sprintskin-upper.

Speed and acceleration are natural parts off the Adidas Predator LZ SL and this is, among other things, because of the Sprintframe-outersole. It gives fantastic flexibility and even though it is just 1mm. in some areas, you don't notice this at all. Furthermore, there has, of course, also been made room for Adidas' revolutionising miCoach-chip, that gives you the opportunity to track and calculate your run-data from training and games.

The Traxion 2.0-stud configuration is built up around the three triangular studs, that all serve to assist you in crucial and imperative areas; Turns in tight spaces, acceleration, stability when running sideways and also when breaking abruptly. So no matter which direction you wish to go, to beat your direct opponent, you will always be a step ahead of the game.
