Bold design for the Nike Merlin | The new official ball for the Premier League is here

Spring is coming and a great way to kick it off is to put some colour on the football pitches. Nike has launched the latest Merlin ball for the Premier League.

We’ve seen some great colourways on the official balls for the Premier League this season so far. It started with the launch of the first Merlin in June which really surprised us with its bold look. Then came the Hi-Vis version that gave us a retro look - including the iconic Nike Total 90 branding as a reference to some of the most influential balls in the Premier League history.

Now Nike has revealed the third colourway for the Merlin Premier League series this season. And let’s just say that it might be one to remember. Let’s take a look at it now!

The first thing we see are the bright orange circles that cover some of the panels. A good way to make the ball more noticeable in games - for both players and spectators. The graphic design with the thin black lines goes around the orange circles.

Another thing worth mentioning is the Nike Swoosh. The end of the branding is made in a zig zag pattern to differentiate it from other Nike footballs. The Premier League logo with the lion and the trophy is finished in a black "field" on the ball.

The ball is constructed in a 4-panel design to minimize the amount of seems in the ball and to improve the touch and performance. The ball has the Nike All Conditions Control (ACC) - this will help you control the ball in all weather conditions. The ball is also manufactured with Aerowtrac to stabilize the swerve of the ball while in the air. Perfect for long passes and shots on goal. The polyethylene layer gives an almost perfect precision as well.

It’s going the be awesome to watch the biggest stars like Salah, Rashford, Aubameyang and Agüero hit the back of the net with this new Premier League ball.
