Yet another month is drawing to an end and as we always do, we have taken some time to reflect on the very best football gear July had to offer. July was kicked off with the single craziest day of the year, so this month was definitely another contender for best month so far. Read along and catch up on some of things you might have missed.

As previously mentioned July started with a bang, with a day that had so many new football shirts and football boots that it’s almost tricky to fit them all in. Probably the brand who had the most releases that day was adidas, with them introducing the follow-up colourways for their X15.1 and Ace15.1 in a reflective colourway.

The busy bees from adidas then followed up on their new football boots by unveiling the much awaited Juventus home- and away-shirt, which were adidas’ first shot at a football shirt for La Vecchia Signora. They weren’t the only ones lucky enough to get a new kit that day, because PUMA were also ready with new football shirts for Borussia Dortmund. The classic looking kit was very well received and ranks very highly among my favourite kits this summer.

Just like adidas, PUMA were far from done here and introduced colourway updates for arguably their biggest innovation ever. While they also updated their popular evoSPEED collection, it was the SL (Superlight) version of the boot that stole the show and spotlight just like when it was launched. It weighs an incredible 103 grams, which makes it the lightest match-ready boot ever.

Later on in the month it was once again adidas bringing the heat, as they introduced a brand new collection of indoor and street football shoes. The Boost, Court and Cage shoes were released in a very wide array of colourways and it will also be exciting to see what adidas indoor shoes the future holds.

Nike didn’t participate in the early month flurry of launches, apart from the release of a few football shirts from Manchester City, Inter Milan and Paris Saint Germain, but were laying low and preparing something big. Nike ramped up for the new season and all the big pre-season games with the Lightning Storm Pack. The new Nike football boots will definitely be making a big impact on the early parts of the new season looming.

July is drawing to an end and that means the new football season isn’t far off anymore. The biggest brands have been gearing up in style and quite a lot teams are closer and closer to being completely ready for kick-off. What has been your favourite release this month?
