At 22:48 Stade de France erupted in pure ecstasy. Payet’s rocket left foot from outside the box sent every French person into a frenzy of joy. It all culminated when Payet was substituted and with tears of happiness won everyone’s hearts. We couldn’t have hoped for a better opening to the tournament.
Payet’s goal was scored in a pair of Nike Mercurial Superfly IV - it was however the Mercurial Superfly V that Joltter and Luca had been out to test, when they together with Nike, played at the Stade Sébastien Charléty.
The Mercurial silo is by quite some distance the most represented football boot at EURO16 in France, with more than 140 players wearing it at the tournament. For that reason, it’s no wonder Nike are doing so much to get it promoted and show why it has become the boot of choice for so many players.
