Lots of stories to take from this very early round of football. Join us as we explore the best spots from around the world. Ohh it’s a good one!

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) - adidas X 16.1 Speed of Light custom

A sigh of relief could probably be heard around the adidas HQ office, when Gareth Bale this weekend scored twice, while crucially wearing the newest release of adi boots. The Welshman starred during EURO16, but because of his obsession with having customised boots, he did so in an old colourway, which caused quite a headache. adidas have now prepared a personalised pair of X 16.1 boots for the new season, which among many modifications feature new lace aglets and a changed forefoot.

Charly Musonda (Real Betis) - Nike Mercurial Vapor III

Ohh Charly! We don’t really know you yet, and you might not know us, but we love you already! The player on loan from Chelsea started his first game for Real Betis in the Nike Mercurial Vapor III from 2006! An almighty throwback, which really gets our boothead senses tingling!

Paul Pogba (Manchester United) - adidas ACE 16+ PureControl #Pogboom custom

A boot for the occasion! It was a big moment, when #Pogback finally happened and Pogba stepped onto the hallowed turf at The Theatre of Dreams. It was a fine debut for the world’s most expensive player and his Speed of Light adidas ACE 16+ PureControl.

Marco Borriello (Cagliari) - Nike Mercurial Superfly Custom

If any of you follow Marco Borriello, you will know he is one of those uncontrollably Italian people, who live their life to the fullest. It’s impossible not to like on some level and he has now had a customised pair of boots made in honour of two people, who live exactly like him. In honour of Christian Vieri, the #bomber, and Gianluca Vacchi. If you don’t know the last guy, then do yourself a favour and follow him on Instagram - it’s not football related, but I guarantee the silver fox has the best dance moves you will ever see.

Petr Cech (Arsenal) - PUMA evoPOWER 1.3

A change of boots has also come the way of Petr Cech, as he starts a new season for Arsenal. He has moved from the adidas ACE silo and will be wearing evoPOWER. Decked in PUMA from head to toe - minus the helmet.

Granit Xhaka (Arsenal) - Under Armour Clutchfit Force 2.0

Another player in new-ish boots is Granit Xhaka, who changed boots for his second game of the season. Under Armour like changing their colourways and the boots their athletes wear frequently, so it will be interesting to following Xhaka and his Under Armour Clutchfit Force 2.0.
