Another week is upon us and we now look back at the best boots on display in the week that passed. Read along as we check out the biggest boot stories and mysteries.

Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) - Nike Mercurial Vapor XI Elite Pack

We would like to start this boot spot segment with a formal apology to Raheem Sterling. We may have been a little harsh when he was unveiled as a part of the Elite Pack squad. It seems there is nothing Pep Guardiola can’t do and Sterling has probably been the best player in the Premier League’s first three rounds. We are very sorry Raheem and you deserve your spot among the best.

Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) - Nike Tiempo Legend 6 Blackout

Might there be a bit of contract drama brewing for Nike? Sergio Ramos did this weekend play in a pair of blackout boots, which either means he is on the hunt for an entirely new sponsor or just wants a more lucrative deal with The Swoosh. Time will tell…

Richard Keogh (Derby County) - Umbro Medusæ Grenadine

Now that’s what I call a colourway! Very simple really, but Umbro have still managed to make the new ‘Grenadine’ look stand out. Hats off and we hope to see more of the Umbro Medusæ in action at the highest level.

Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace) - Nike Hypervenom Phantom II Spark Brilliance

New club and new boots. Christian Benteke has experimented with the Nike Hypervenom in the past, while playing for Aston Villa, but ultimately ended up moving back to the Tiempo. Now he is giving it another go following his 32 million pound move to Crystal Palace.

Romelu Lukaku (Everton) - Nike Hypervenom Phantom II & adidas X 16.1

You can’t say Benteke without saying Lukaku it seems. The Everton superstar has also been experimenting with new boots, and for the midweek cup game he wore a pair of adidas X 16.1. Not something we imagine Nike were too happy to see and he was therefore quickly back in Hypervenom during the weekend.

James McClean (West Bromwich Albion) - Nike Mercurial Superfly V Elite Pack

Eden Hazard, Raheem Sterling, Cristiano Ronaldo and James McClean. Ehhh, spot the odd one out there. James McClean is generally not known as big giver of f"#cks, but he is on the other hand known as a big lover of unique football boots. That he really likes the design of the new boots is definitely why he has stepped into the **Nike Mercurial Superfly V Elite Pack.** It's not because he is under some illusion that he is one of the 11 best players in the world. We hope...
