PUMA have just unveiled their new evoSPEED 2017-silo. This means new colours, new boots, new shin pads, a new ball… And yes, new goalkeeper gloves!
The new evoSPEED 1.5 comes in some seriously fresh colours, which will create easily the flashiest goalkeeper kit-combo on the pitch. Det ready to stand out - your saves certainly won’t go unnoticed! The gloves come with a plethora of nice technologies, and they certainly deserve a spot among the best gloves in the world.
The PUMA evoSPEED 1.5 goalkeeper gloves are equipped with an absolutely fantastic latex, which PUMA call “Elite Grip Safety Yellow”. The 4mm latex gives a sublime grip and has a shock absorbing function, which takes some of the pace out of the hardest strikes and thus provides move control on the ball. The cut is a hybrid of Rollfinger and Regular Cut (which is PUMA’s term for the traditional Flat Cut). This means that on the index finger and little finger, the glove has Rollfinger for a greater latex-to-ball contact, while the middle finger and ring finger is made with the Flat Cut. The thumb is Twin Wrapped, which means it features latex all around it, so you have a greater chance of saving the ball, when you are out in even the most stretched fingertip saves.
The backhand is equipped with a 3D moulded punching zone and a Speedframe made from silicone. The combination gives the glove a lot of strength, so PUMA have been able to make it an ultra lightweight glove with lots of flexibility. In addition, the evoSPEED 1.5 goalkeeper glove has a close that lets you personalise the fit in an entirely new way. If you want a glove with a tight close with lots of support around the wrist, then you can tighten it a lot. The close strap ends on the underside of your hand, so it doesn’t disturb you as much as a traditional close. If you on the other hand want a looser close with space for movability, then you can zip off the strap and leave it behind in the changing rooms. It’s all down to personal preference and the evoSPEED 1.5 lets you choose on the day. Genius.
