In the beginning of 2016, adidas could introduce Paul Pogba as the newest member of the family. That contract saw Pogba become a creative force within adidas design and this has now resulted in adidas x Pogba Collection Season one.
It just keeps getting better for adidas. They had an immense 2016 and Paul Pogba looks to have found his footing at Manchester United. And of course it was all launched with a music video, where Pogba did his thing…
For many years now Pogba expressed his very own creativity by playing in his own designs. These designs were made completely without contracts involved and was done purely, because he fancied it. These talents were something adidas could use and they therefore secured his contract last year.
”Paul Pogba is one of the most creative players in world football right now and when he joined adidas, it wasn’t about wearing our boots, it was so we could create together”, says Sam Handy, adidas Football VP of Design.

Sam Handy and Paul Pogba met for the first time, when he was still a Juventus player and that day was the birth of Pogba x adidas Season One. Here they worked together on everything in the collection and Pogba was involved in everything from logo design to choice of colours. The primary product is in this blog the ACE 17+ PureControl, which we already saw in action this weekend against Liverpool. Black with gold marble detailing, truly stunning!

We have gotten to know and love Paul Pogba for his personality, dabs, haircuts and vivacious style of play, and all of this is reflected in all items held within the collection. adidas X Pogba also takes inspiration from the growing Afro Trap environment. So much so, that Pogba has gotten his close friend, French artist, MHD, to create a song for the launch. MHD is known for his “le mouv”, a dance move performed by several footballers.
Apart from a PureControl, there will also be a Cage and Street version. The Street version is even made with black BOOST sole, which people who know their sneakers will recognise as a strong sign of hype.
