The PUMA evoPOWER Vigor 1 football boot was launched four months ago and has already secured its spot as the best PUMA boot ever made, in our opinion. PUMA now shake things up design-wise and present a special concept boot made for more accuracy.
Named the PUMA evoPOWER Vigor 3D 1, this boot takes the design that we have already grown to love over just the last four months and modifies the upper construction. They knew they already had a practically perfect product in the regular boot and knew not to mess with the soleplate and the materials used. Instead, they have looked at making a version that offered fans of power and accuracy a different angle and experience.
The upper is still made from the one-way stretchable AdapLite material, which gives you the barefoot strike experience, because it allows your foot to bend naturally with the boot. You know that feeling of power you get when striking a ball barefoot in the backyard? That’s the holy grail all brands have been pursuing in their football boots, but only PUMA have unlocked.
What sets this new 3D version of the evoPOWER apart from the original boot is the way the AccuFoam technology has been integrated on the upper. On the evoPOWER 3D the AccuFoam is dotted across the upper on both the inside and the outside of the upper. This gives you a really intuitive connection with the ball, because the nerve-endings around the foot receive more signals when you strike the ball. More feel for the ball equals increased accuracy.
It’s hard to say if this or the original is the better boot, but it will definitely be interesting to see if any professional players decide to pick the 3D up. Olivier Giroud currently has the highest ‘minutes to goal’-ratio in the Premier League, so if he sees it fit to switch his boots up, then you know it’s because he is confident it will bring him even more goals. What I will say, is that this Blue Depth colourway is absolutely my personal favourite evoPOWER Vigor 1 release so far. By a mile in fact!
