This element is designed to distribute the power of the kicks and knocks better, across the entire shin pad. This provides a more consistent protection, as the shin pad is better equipped to absorb the many kicks and knocks you get during a football match.
The 3D printing technology used to create the shin pad has given Nike the possibility of removing materials from the shin pad. The result is a lighter and more flexible shin pad which has a fit unlike anything ever created before.
Flylite Guard is, of course, anatomically correct, so you have a shin pad that fits perfectly, respectively to your right and left leg.
Not only does the "granular" design of the shin pad provide an optimal fit, the design also helps to increase comfort. The design provides a better distribution of air, and thus better ventilation. This removes a major irritant and makes the shin pads incredibly comfortable to wear in hot weather conditions.
To ensure that they are not moving around on the leg, they can be placed in the shin socks included, that keep the shins where you want them.
