What is Naija? The word has many uses and defines a certain future-focused optimism of a new generation of Nigerians that celebrates the nation’s vibrant culture. But using this word requires attitude, even panache. It shouldn’t be understood as a stand-in for Nigeria, and instead Naija reflect a youthful exuberance, pride and fresh perspective on patriotism. For some Naija means the new Nigeria.
Nike’s energetic collection has many great products which is well suited for a nice summer look. The Nigeria Home Shirt is made with a fresh look, which pays homage to two previous Nigeria Home Shirts. The 2018 Home Shirt has a familiar badge recolored to honor the 1996 “Dream Team” which won the Olympic football tournament. While the 1994 Home Shirt design is used for the rest of the shirts, due to it was the first time Nigeria qualified for the World Cup. The Home Shirt has an eagle inspired black-and-white sleeves, while it is supercharged through abstracted patterns and hyper colours.
