In 2009 Puma launched a streamline Special Edition boot, in collaboration with Ferrari that weighed a jaw-dropping 155 grams. The partnership between Puma and Scuderia Ferrari celebrates its 10 year anniversary this year and this is something they have chosen to pay tribute to, with a new and revolutionising Puma boot: the evoSPEED 1.3 F947. Limited Edition – just 947 pairs! Collaboration between Puma and Ferrari Weighs just 180 grams A sharp touch and ultimate breathability The upper on the Puma evoSPEED 1.3 F947 is like the normal evoSPEED 1.3 made from premium synthetic, produced by the Japanese specialists Teijin. The synthetic material has however been made thinner, so you get lower weight and an even closer feel with the ball. Furthermore the thin synthetic upper helps give you a natural and sharp touch on the ball. To give you the best possible breathability it has mesh windows in the synthetic upper. The mesh material has been implemented on the medial side of the boot, so you get maximal ventilation and minimal weight. The heel counter has been made extra solid, to give you maximal protection. There has however also been fitted mesh-zones here, so Puma again can keep the weight low. In addition the medial side of the boot is coated with a leather material, which gives a high-end look and great comfort. A sole built for speed Puma have also changed the sole on the evoSPEED 1.3 F947. Instead of the normal Duoflex sole, the boot is made with an SL sole, which makes it very light and responsive. Furthermore the conical studs from the normal evoSPEED 1.3 have been changed and replaced with bladed studs. The bladed studs help give you extra grip on the pitch, so you can quickly accelerate and built up speed. Puma have however kept one conical stud, which is placed under the middle of the forefoot, so you still have full manoeuvrability on the pitch. The Speedtrack torsion bar has been made smaller, but the sole is still very responsive and you naturally get the same good stability we know and love on the evoSPEED 1.3. An iconic colourway to match the iconic design The boots design is inspired by Ferrari’s street cars and their F1 race cars and the boots red colour really leads your thoughts back to some of Ferrari’s classic and legendary cars. In addition we see the equally iconic Puma stripe on the lateral side of the boot, as well as the Puma and Ferrari logo on the front of the boot. Enzo Ferrari founded Scuderia Ferrari in 1929, but it wasn’t until 1947 that the company started producing street cars under the name Ferrari – and this is what Puma pay tribute to with their Limited Edition evoSPEED 1.3 F947.
