Best adidas World Cup Boots Ranked 2010-2026 | Full tier list
From the F50 Adizero in South Africa 2010 to the brand-new Road to Glory Pack for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, JayMike has tested every Adidas World Cup football boot released over the past 16 years. In this complete Adidas World Cup boot tier list, every boot is ranked based on real on-pitch feel, comfort, touch, speed, innovation and overall vibes.
Some Adidas World Cup boots are absolute legends. Some are still brilliant today. And a few? Well, they should probably stay in the past and be forgotten as quickly as possible.
Below, you can also watch JayMike’s video, where he tests and ranks every Adidas World Cup boot released from 2010 to 2026.
2010 South Africa: The Wild Year of the F50 Adizero
Adidas 2010 World Cup boots were fairly toned down visually, but the F50 Adizero completely stole the show. This was the year Adidas changed what a lightweight speed boot could feel like.
F50 Adizero 2010 - S Tier
The F50 Adizero 2010 was a revolution. At just 165g, it felt completely different from almost anything else at the time.
The synthetic Sprint Skin upper was soft for its era, the Sprint Cage gave a bit of lockdown, and the thin Sprint Frame outsole saved a lot of weight. The heel could have been better, but the overall feel was razor sharp, responsive and ridiculously light.
For JayMike, this boot helped redefine what a speed boot could be. Compared to the Nike Mercurial and PUMA V1.10 at the time, it was a wildly different experience - and frankly, better.
Verdict: S Tier
F50 Adizero Leather 2010 - S Tier
The leather version of the F50 Adizero was even better. It weighed 175g, only 10g more than the synthetic version, but the extra comfort made it feel special.
With a soft leather forefoot and synthetic leather midfoot, it gave a close touch on the ball but with a more padded, elegant sensation. For a boot from 2010, the comfort was through the roof.
Verdict: S Tier
Predator X 2010 - E Tier
The Predator X made too many strange decisions. Adidas moved away from the lovely K-leather forefoot of the Predator PowerSwerve and used a thicker Taurus leather instead. The fold-over tongue disappeared, replaced by a bulky burrito-style tongue.
It felt powerful, yes, but also heavy, stiff and uncomfortable. The midfoot was too rigid, and the classic Predator feeling just was not there.
JayMike calls it the second-worst Predator he has ever worn.
Verdict: E Tier
Adipure 3 2010 - C Tier
The Adipure 3 was much better than the Predator X. It had a soft K-leather forefoot, a molded sockliner and extra cushioning in the heel.
On foot, it was easy to wear and almost slipper-like. But it had two problems: the heel was slippery, and at around 290g, it was heavy by modern standards. Durability also did not age well, with the outsole falling apart after 16 years.
Verdict: C Tier
2014 Brazil: The Iconic Battle Pack
The 2014 Adidas Battle Pack is one of the most iconic World Cup boot packs ever made. With its black-and-white war paint design and legendary F50 Adizero, this pack still stands out today.
F50 Adizero 2014 - S Tier
The 2014 F50 Adizero Battle Pack is one of the easiest S tiers on this list.
It had a super soft and thin Hybridtouch upper, a mesh midfoot and a reworked Sprint Frame outsole with one of the best stud patterns Adidas has ever made. At around 150g, it was impressively light even by today’s standards.
It felt sleek, nimble, comfortable and razor sharp on the ball. The only small issue was a slightly slippery heel, which Adidas later fixed with a suede liner.
This boot became a blueprint for modern speed boots.
Verdict: S Tier
Predator Instinct 2014 - B Tier
The Predator Instinct brought back a more powerful Predator feeling. It had a Hybridtouch upper, rubber Predator elements and a pass pad that gave a lot of grip and personality on the ball.
It was fun to shoot with and had a beefier feel than the Lethal Zones boots. But JayMike never fully connected with it.
Verdict: B Tier
Nitrocharge 1.0 2014 - B Tier
The Nitrocharge 1.0 was built around the idea of energy return. It had a Hybridtouch forefoot, an Energy Sling across the upper and EnergyPulse in the outsole.
It was comfortable, light enough and had a lovely upper, but the Energy Sling never really lived up to the promise. Lockdown was fine, but not amazing.
JayMike even says that with rubber Predator elements instead of the Energy Sling, it might have been a better Predator than the actual Predator.
Verdict: High B Tier
11Pro 2 2014 - Low B Tier
The 11Pro 2 Battle Pack used a Hybridtouch upper instead of Taurus leather. It was soft, padded and comfortable, with a cushioned touch that almost felt like natural leather.
The problem was the heavier outsole and a wider heel package that did not fully work for JayMike. If you are Toni Kroos, this is probably S tier. For everyone else, it lands lower.
Verdict: Low B Tier
2018 Russia: The Energy Mode Pack
The Energy Mode Pack brought more colour to Adidas 2018 World Cup boots. It was a mixed but exciting line-up, featuring the return of the Predator, the wild Nemeziz and the speed-focused X silo.
Predator 18+ - B Tier
The Predator 18+ marked the return of the Predator name, but for JayMike it felt more like an Ace 18+ with Predator branding.
The laceless Primeknit upper was soft, plush and easy to wear, with a molded forefoot texture for a bit of grip. But it did not truly feel like a Predator.
Verdict: B Tier
Nemeziz 18+ - Low A Tier
The Nemeziz 18+ was wild, different and genuinely memorable. The 360 Agility Bandage system gave a snug, adaptive fit that wrapped the foot securely, making it one of the most distinctive football boots Adidas had ever released.
It was comfortable, lightweight and unique, and the laceless construction worked much better than many expected. Even so, JayMike preferred the laced Nemeziz 18.1, as it delivered better lockdown while keeping the same overall feel and character that made the Nemeziz range stand out.
Verdict: Low A Tier
Nemeziz 18.1 Messi - Very High A Tier
The Nemeziz 18.1 Messi is a low-key gem. It featured laces for improved lockdown, a low-cut heel and the brilliant Gambetra outsole, which JayMike rates as one of Adidas' best ever.
Compared to the laceless version, the added lockdown made the boot feel even more complete without sacrificing comfort or weight. It was lightweight, reliable and simply a boot that worked, making it one of the standout performers in Adidas' 2018 World Cup line-up.
Verdict: Very High A Tier
X 18+ - B Tier
The X 18+ dropped both the lace cover and the laces. It used a Skeletal Weave upper, which gave a snug and anatomical fit but took longer to soften up than JayMike would have liked.
The heel fit was also slightly loose, which affected lockdown and ultimately held the boot back. It was still an interesting step in the evolution of the X silo, but compared to the laced X 18.1, it simply didn't feel as complete on foot.
Verdict: B Tier
X 18.1 - A Tier
The X 18.1 was the better performer compared to the laceless X 18+. While the Plus version had a decent Skeletal Weave upper, the laced 18.1 gave JayMike a better overall experience because of two key things: a softer Speedmesh upper and improved lockdown.
That makes a big difference in a speed boot. With laces, the boot felt more secure through the midfoot, especially when sprinting, cutting or pushing off. It still had that fast, snug X feeling, but with a more reliable fit than the laceless version.
For players who wanted a lightweight Adidas speed boot in 2018, the X 18.1 was the stronger choice.
Verdict: A Tier
Copa 18.1 – B Tier
The Copa 18.1 was a solid leather boot with a really nice K-leather forefoot. JayMike describes the forefoot as super soft and very comfortable, giving the boot that classic Copa-like touch where the ball feels slightly cushioned and elegant.
The fit was also pretty good, and the outsole did the job. But the boot never became a true standout. The textile tongue felt better on foot than it looked in hand, but it still had a slightly floppy feeling because of the coating stripe through the middle.
It was a good boot, just not one that made the same impact as some of the best Adidas World Cup boots.
Verdict: B Tier
2022 Qatar: The Al Rihla Pack
The Al Rihla Pack was one of Adidas’ more divisive World Cup boot collections. The X Speedportal had speed-boot quality, while the Predator Edge+ showed that not every bold idea works on pitch.
X Speedportal+ - Low A Tier
The X Speedportal+ followed the brilliant X Speedflow+, one of JayMike’s favourite Adidas speed boots ever. The Speedportal+ did not hit the same level, but it was still a solid boot.
The laceless Primeknit upper felt a little stiff at first but softened up well, especially on the medial side. It had a sleek fit, a good outsole and still felt fast and nimble.
The heel was more padded and slightly chunkier than the Speedflow, which JayMike did not enjoy as much.
Verdict: Low A Tier
X Speedportal.1 - C Tier
The X Speedportal.1 had some of the same speed-boot idea as the laceless X Speedportal+, but it never really landed the same way on foot. Compared to the Plus version, JayMike found it stiffer, with a higher-volume toe box and a fit that simply did not wrap the foot as nicely.
For a speed boot, that matters. You want the boot to feel sleek, close and locked in when you accelerate or change direction — and this one felt a little too roomy and rigid to give that sharp, connected sensation.
It was not a total disaster, but next to the better Adidas speed boots from the same era, it felt like the weaker option.
Verdict: C Tier
Predator Edge+ - F Tier
The Predator Edge+ was rough. Really rough.
It had rubber grip elements all over the upper, which gave tons of grip and made shooting powerful and fun. But the upper felt stiff, bulky and brick-like on foot. The weighted Power Facet under the forefoot did very little and felt like a gimmick.
JayMike calls it the worst Predator ever made.
Verdict: F Tier
Copa Sense+ - C Tier
The Copa Sense+ was not a complete disaster, but it never fully worked for JayMike.
The Fusion Skin upper had soft calf leather in the forefoot, but there was not enough of it. The heel did not feel right, and the outsole was stiff in places where it should not have been.
Compared to the Copa 19+ or 20+, JayMike would rather choose those instead.
Verdict: C Tier
2026 North America: The Road to Glory Pack
The Road to Glory football boots represent Adidas' latest World Cup collection and introduce its flagship Adidas football boots for 2026. Featuring the F50 Hyperfast Elite, Predator 26 and Copa Pure 4, the pack offers three distinct boot silos built for speed, control and comfort.
F50 Hyperfast Elite - S Tier
The F50 Hyperfast Elite is Adidas back at its best in the speed boot category.
The Halo Skin Plus upper is soft, close to the ball and slightly textured. The heel lockdown is excellent, the outsole is snappy and responsive, and the boot feels properly light.
For JayMike, it has the holy trinity of a great speed boot:
- Comfortable
- Lightweight
- Responsive
It gives him some of the same feeling as the legendary 2014 F50 Adizero.
Verdict: S Tier
F50 Hyperfast Evo - A Tier
The F50 Hyperfast Evo is Adidas’ lightest mass-produced boot ever. It has a paper-thin Halo Shell Evo upper with some forefoot structure and Halo Cage Plus support in the midfoot.
It feels insanely light, almost like it disappears on your feet. The touch is razor sharp, and the outsole has decent snap. However, it does not give the same lockdown or hyper-responsive feel as the Hyperfast Elite.
Verdict: A Tier
Copa Pure 4 - A Tier
The Copa Pure 4 is low-key amazing and one of the standout modern Adidas leather football boots. It features a Fusion Skin upper with soft, pliable calf leather that molds around the foot in a slipper-like way, giving you a natural touch and exceptional comfort from the first wear.
The shape is accommodating, the floating tongue helps fine-tune the fit, and the suede heel liner feels excellent, creating a secure yet comfortable lockdown. On the pitch, the Copa Pure 4 feels elegant on the ball, relatively lightweight and effortless to play in without losing that classic leather sensation.
If you're looking for a modern leather football boot that balances comfort, touch and performance, the Copa Pure 4 is an easy recommendation.
Verdict: A Tier
Predator 26 - High B / Low A Tier
The Predator 26 comes in several versions, including with a fold-over tongue, without the tongue and as a laceless model.
The World Cup colourway feels better than earlier versions because the mesh upper is softer and more pliable. It still is not quite as good as the Predator 25 with HyperTouch 2.0, but the fit, heel and stable outsole make it a solid football boot.
Verdict: High B or Low A Tier
Messi Signature Boot 2026 - Very High A Tier
Messi's 2026 signature model is not technically part of the main World Cup pack, but it still deserves a place in this ranking. JayMike describes it as comfortable, elegant and simply a really enjoyable football boot to wear.
It sits very high in A tier thanks to its overall balance of comfort and performance. JayMike even suggests it has S-tier potential, especially if Messi adds another iconic World Cup chapter while wearing it.
Verdict: Very High A Tier
Best Adidas World Cup Boot Pack
For JayMike, the 2014 Battle Pack is the clear winner. It is not just one of Adidas’ most iconic World Cup packs, but one of the most visually striking football boot packs ever made.
The black-and-white war paint design, inspired by indigenous tribes and Amazon rainforest animals, made the boots instantly recognisable.
