Replica or authentic: which version are you buying?

Many kits come in two versions. Nike calls them Stadium and Match. adidas adds "Authentic" to the name of the player version. Puma labels them Replica and Authentic.

The authentic shirt uses a more technical fabric and an athletic cut made for playing. The replica is cut for everyday wear, with more room around the chest and waist.

Which season is the shirt from?

Shirts in the sale are a mix of current kits and earlier designs. The season is usually part of the product name, for example 2025/26. Check it if you want the kit your club wears this year.

Washing a shirt so crests and numbers last

  1. Turn the shirt inside out.
  2. Wash at 30°C with similar colours.
  3. Skip fabric softener. It reduces the sweat-wicking effect of technical fabrics.
  4. Hang it to dry. A tumble dryer loosens heat-applied badges and printing.
  5. Never iron directly over the crest or the print.
