Gloves wear out faster than the rest of a keeper's kit, so start there. The cut decides how they sit on your hand. The latex decides how long the grip lasts. Goalkeeper jerseys and padded shorts and trousers are part of Black Deals too.Read more

Latex and the surface you play on

Soft, thick latex grips best and wears fastest, especially on artificial grass. Firmer training latex lasts longer. Keep your newest pair for matches and train in an older one.

Finger protection uses stiff spines in the back of the fingers that stop them bending backwards. Some keepers like the support. Others find it reduces feel on the ball.

Glove care after every session

  1. Rinse the gloves in lukewarm water with a mild soap.
  2. Squeeze the water out. Don't wring them.
  3. Dry them at room temperature, away from radiators.
  4. Store them in a glove bag, not loose in your kit bag.
  5. Dampen the palms with water before the next session.

Padded wear

Padded shorts and trousers protect hips and knees on hard winter pitches and artificial grass. Some goalkeeper jerseys add padding at the elbows.
