We have heard the saying “Success is 10% inspiration and 90% dedication” before. But does that mean that we need to sweat 90% of the time to achieve success? Well, if you ask Nike, then that is exactly what it means. Okay, maybe not 90% of all our waking hours, but 90% of the time spent on the pitch. And when we look at Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Iniesta, Pique and what else they may be called, then we have to admit that the hard work thing checks out. Because they may be gifted, but the natural talent is not what makes the astronomical difference between them and us. This is probably precisely why Nike have chosen them to underline their message. It’s not all about one big tournament, one big game, or one good training session. It’s about always building, always developing and always evolving that 10% inspiration.
