It's monday and even though the big focal point today is transfer deadline day, we are ready with a round of boot spots, following a great weekend of football, with plenty of amazing games on show. In this round of boot spots we take a closer look at pairs of blackout boots and then there was a look back at a few old and overseen colourways.

The worst part about Mondays has to be the wait until the next one, where we again get to watch football. It is however not all bad, because Mondays mean we get to look back at the last week of football and give you the very best boot spots from the weekend.

Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) – Adidas Predator LZ II Ray Green/Black/Electricity And we start off this round of boot spots with this summers big boot related talking point, Steven Gerrard, who in the game against Aston Villa, wore a pair of Nitrocharge 1.0, which sparked great debate over whether he was changing away from the Predator. At Anfield when playing against Manchester United he was back in the well known Adidas Predaor LZ II. How this entire Gerrard-boot-saga will end is still an open question, which we will follow closely.

Mathieu Flamini (Arsenal FC) – Nike Tiempo Legend III Blackout The versatile midfielder Mathieu Flamini is back in Arsenal and in the game against Tottenham, he showed exactly why Arsene Wenger had brought him back. After entering the fray, when replacing Jack Wilshere at the end of the first half, he delivered an almost perfect display, bar naturally the trademark Flamini yellow card, which he is so famous for raking up. He did so wearing the classic Nike Tiempo Legend III, which Flamini looks to still prefer.

Iago Aspas (Liverpool FC) – Nike Hypervenom Phantom Blackout We have already presented it as the big boot question this summer: Are you Stealth or Fresh? And Liverpool's Spanish prodigy doesn't look to be a second in doubt. In Liverpool's impressive win against United he wore a pair of blackouted Nike Hypervenom boots. There were unfortunately no goals in them, but he was a menace to the United defense. The interesting thing is that it looks like Iago Aspas has blackouted the original Bright Citrus launch colourway.

Robin van Persie (Manchester United) – Adidas F50 Adizero MiAdidas RVP No goals have come from the otherwise so dangerous Robin van Persie and his new Adidas F50 Adizero boots yet, but he did get very close in the dying embers of the game against Liverpool. It looked like one of those chances he usually hammers in the back of the net, but his skills failed him and he hit the side netting. Despite the lack of goals so far, we are quite sure we will see a few goals from RVP's new new Adidas F50 Adizero.

Jesus Navas (Manchester City) – Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Volt/Black/Bright Citrus It is not all professionals who wear the traditional versions of their boots. Jesus Navas was in the game against Hull City wearing a pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Volt/Black/Bright Citrus. There is nothing too surprising about that on its own, but what was interesting was Jesus Navas' stud-configuration. Just like Pedro has done, he has had the stud-configuration from the Nike Mercurial Vapor VII fitted on his boots and we think this is probably because of the added stability this would give.

Robinho (AC Milan) – Nike Hypervenom Phnatom Bright Citrus/Black The unpredictable Nike Hypervenom Phantom is starting to become a frequent feature in our boot spots, as there are always new stars popping up wearing the new boot. The extremely nimble Brazilian Robinho and he has gone for the Bright Citrus/Black colourway. Whether it is his good friend Neymar Jr., who has influenced Robinho, no one knows, but it will be interesting to follow the Brazilian in Hypervenom.

Santi Cazorla (Arsenal FC) – Puma Evospeed 1.2 Black/Yellow Another player that may have been influenced a little into switching, is Santi Cazorla, who recently changed to Puma. Arsenal have quite a few Puma players, with Sagna, Giroud, Rosicky and now Santi Cazorla playing in the German brand. In yesterday's 1-0 win against bitter rivals Tottenham, we saw him wearing them in a game for the first time, which turned out to be quite successful.

Naldo Edinaldo Gomes Pereira (Udinese) – Nike CTR360 Maestri III Blackout Here's a player, who we don't see or hear much of, but Udinese's Naldo Edinaldo Gomes Pereira still caught our eye this weekend. He wore a pair of Nike CTR360 Maestri III, which had been completely blackouted. It was cool to see the elegant control boot, when it had been given an equally elegant blackout look.

Dimitar Berbatov (Fulham) – Adidas Predator LZ Black/Orange There are some players who are very hard to sway from their old boots and colourways, to the newer boots. One of them is the Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov, who is a man that certainly knows the way to the back of the net. In this Saturdays game against Newcastle he wore a pair of first generation Adidas Predator LZ, in a colourway you don't often see.

Arnold Kruiswijk (Herenveen) – Puma Powercat 1.2 Black/Green It is definitely not every day you get to see the Black/Green colourway of the Puma Powercat 1.2 in action either. None the less this is exactly what Arnold Kruiswijk from Herenveen decided to wear. It wasn't enough to secure victory against Twente, but he could comfort himself with a spot in this round of boot spots.

The weekends boot spots this round gave us plenty of blackouted boots and a few older colourways of familiar boots. What did you think of this round of boot spots? Have you spotted something we missed? As always we would love to hear your comments here, on Facebook and on Twitter.
