"What would the foot look like, if it had evolved for playing football?"

Today’s football boots are about so much more than just footwear with studs for traction. The science behind them would blow your mind. The Magista Obra 2 is the latest example.

Even though it’s only two years ago that Nike presented Magista Obra, it’s hard to remember a time, before football boots with sock. Because of the completely intuitive construction, it didn’t take long before we all embraced the very unordinary design.

“It wasn’t an evolution of Magista 1. We really thought about how the foot work and how the foot would’ve evolved if it’s sole purpose was to play football,” - Phil Woodman, Nike Football Designer.

Nike Magista Obra 2 is the development, or rather the innovation, of the football boot that started a revolution. And what a result for Nike. I had the pleasure of trying them on a little before everyone else, and I can honestly say, they are one of the most comfortable boots I’ve ever stuck my feet in.

During EURO 16 in France, we had the chance to talk to two of the gentlemen responsible for creating the new Obra 2. Max Blau and Phil Woodman gave us a little look into what inspired them, when creating the new boot construction. An interesting watch indeed, so watch along above.

Just three days until you can buy the Magista Obra 2. Get them through this link on the 26th of July. Hype!
