Unisport Tastemaker: Recap of our Tastemaker event in Paris

The dream of many young football players is to be sponsored by a big brand. That's exactly what we offered them at our 'Unisport Tastemaker' event in Paris. Find out what happened below.

After a recruitment campaign throughout France, 50 Tastemakers with high potential were selected to participate in this unique event where they would experience a dream day in the shoes of a sponsored player. Unisport will reward the six best Tastemaker by offering them a full-season sponsorship!

What is Unisport Tastemaker?

The Unisport Tastemaker program was launched earlier this year, and allows players from around the world to sign up for some mind-blowing opportunities, such as unique football experiences or testing the latest innovations in football gear. All we ask in return are to create content about it on social networks, or sharing honest opinions on the tested product.

Everyone can sign up to become an Unisport Tastemaker - and maybe you'll get picked out to our starting XI for our next Unisport Tastemaker event. You could be lucky and win tickets to a football match, testing the latest products or maybe even win a full-season sponsorship.

A day in the shoes of a sponsored player

In the morning the Tastemakers were able to receive a Masterclass on the theme of 'sponsorship' led by experienced speakers on the subject. The intention of the masterclass is to educate participants on the duties of sponsored players. Indeed, professional players who have a sponsorship contract with a brand, like Kylian Mbappé with Nike for example, have contractual duties and obligations towards it: attend events, post content on social networks, participate in photoshoots and more.

After lunch, all Tastemakers met on the pitch to showcase their sporting performances as players and their potential as content creators. To help them create their content, we set up challenges on and off the pitch, as well as a mixed boys/girls tournament. We have also equipped them with the latest Nike Phantom Luna football boots and with the latest Nike Academy training collection. It was now time for them to let their talent and creativity speak.

Awards ceremony at the Unisport Paris store

A week later, all participants were invited to an exclusive evening at Unisport Paris store. Once everyone had enjoyed the DJ's bangers and showed their best moves to the music, everyone was waiting to find out who will be selected during the awards ceremony. After a long week of deliberation and viewing all the content created by our young players, our jury was ready to reveal the names of the 6 players who will be sponsored by Unisport this season. The choice was very difficult because our 50 participants were full of talent. But finally Younes, Mamadou, Kristen, Ema, Valentin, Mahamadou were named as the big winners! All 6 of them will be sponsored by Unisport this season and will receive the latest football innovations in order to create content around them and share their honest opinions on the products.

Because we wanted to end the evening in style, we reserved a surprise concert by Gambino La MG for our players - and we might as well tell you, that he set the Unisport store on fire! Our 50 participants could enjoy this unique experience during which they were able to get a little closer to their dream of becoming a professional football player.
