Aston Villa Away Shirt 1981/82
Product description
Aston Villa away-shirt used during the 1981/82 season. After having won the League in 1980/81 Aston Villa qualified for the "European Champion Clubs' Cup" in the 1981/82 season for the first time. In sensational fashion the team from Birmingham went all the way to the final, where they beat footballing powerhouse Bayern Munich 1-0. Things didn't start of well for Villa, with their goalkeeper getting injured early on. This meant the previously unheard of keeper, Nigel Spink, was tossed into the fray. This turned out to be a stroke of good fortune, with the young keeper saving countless efforts from the German superstars. In the end Spinks heroics and a clinical counter attack, finished by Peter Withe, was enough to win the most prestigious club trophy against all odds. The shirt is an official retro shirt, which is made by the English specialists Score Draw. The shirt has the club logo, as well as sponsor printing and is made from 100% cotton.
