The historical stadium was inaggurated in 1959, seeing restoration in 1989. The first match was played out by Napoli and Juventus, with Napoli winning 2-1. Since then, the stadium has seen its fair share of great starts and managers - with the greatest being Maradona. But also star players like Marek Hamsik, Pepe Reina and Raul Albiol - all hunting the Scudetto and the CL trophy. It also hosted the 1990 World Cup semifinal between Argentina and Italy, ending 1-1. Ever since the inauguration in 1959, the stadium has seen Napoli winning the serie A twice.
The capacity is actually unknown, with no public record of the actual seats. But the legend goes that it seats around 78.000 spectators.
