It’s time for the fourth and last chapter of the Future DNA franchise, as Nike launches the new Tiempo Legend VIII - a throwback to the original Tiempo Legend IV silhouette from 2011.

So far, the Future DNA collection from Nike have brought us the PhantomVSN 2, which was a remake of the iconic Hypervenom 1 from 2013 worn by the Brazilian Superstar Neymar Jr. Then came the Mercurial Vapor 13, who’s predecessor was the Mercurial Superfly 1 from 2009, and which was worn by none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. The new Vapor’s were then followed by the PhantomVNM, which we got introduced to last week, and which was a remake of the Nike Air Zoom Total 90 from 2002 - the oldest remake by far, and which legends like Roberto Carlos, Luís Figo and Francesco Totti used to wear in their absolute prime time.

Now the time has come for Nike to wrap up the retro vibes spree, and what better way to conclude the OG inspired series than with a classic boot. Ladies and Gents, here you have it - the Nike Tiempo Legend VIII Future DNA.

The new Nike Tiempo Legend 8 is the final link and the missing piece to the Future DNA collection, and has been infused with the design of the Tiempo Legend IV from ‘11, which was worn by extraordinary players such as Gerard Piqué and Andrea Pirlo back then. The 2020 edition has the same ravishing black / white / orange colours meticulously crafted to uphold that indisputable 2011 elegance, with the glorious orange vibrantly popping on the tongue, the heel graphic and the studs on the soleplates, while maintaining the raw, premium black leather design on the rest of the boots.

Comfort, touch and control are likewise some of the main keywords here, as the boots incorporate cutting-edge innovations such as carbon fiber plate which enhances rigidity, NikeGrip technology on the sockliner constructed to preserve shape and the Flywire upper for exceptional support. All in all, Nike have made a boot which not only emphasizes its triumphant past, it’s an utterly responsive boot that meets the demands of the future players.

The OG players have done their job, contributing in making the four boots legendary and iconic, which therefore leads us to the final and most important question: Are YOU ready to bring back the past to the present and shape the future?
