The new Inter home is inspired by the city of Milan to bring the club closer to the art of the city.
Inter is a club with many traditions. And with 18 league titles and three Champions League trophies in the cabinet it’s also a proud club. And the iconic black and blue stripes of the shirt are recognized all over the world - hence the nickname ‘I Nerazzurri’ (‘The Black and Blues).
The new home shirt is still made in a classic Inter design but with a twist. The shirt is created with the goal of bringing Inter closer to the Milanese art and design. Normally we see straight, vertical lines on the shirt. But Nike has decided to challenge the club’s traditional stripes with inspiration from one of Milan’s most groundbreaking design movements - Memphis Milano.
A mix of a ziz-zag graphic, a post-modernist design and resemblance to the ‘Biscione’ snake is seen on the home shirt for the first time in the history of F.C. Internazionale. It still has a very simple and clean design. A round neck with black outline and the Nike and Pirelli brandings in a clear white colour.
The shirt is in a pretty unexpected design that aligns with both Memphis and Inter’s desire to stand out and do something different. And it comes with the phrase: “Made of Inter”.
