The iconic commentary from Martin Tyler on the 13th of May 2012 might be one of the most goosebump evoking moments in modern football! It derived from the crazy goal where Sergio Agüero scored the third goal in a crazy Manchester City comeback to win 3-2 against Queens Park Rangers in the last second of the game. Actually the last second of the Premier League season. This goal sealed the first championship for The Citizens since 1968. A crazy moment to say the least!
Sergio Agüero is not a part of the Manchester City squad anymore. But that doesn’t mean that they can’t honour the best player in the club’s history. The 2021/22 will mark the 10 year anniversary of the most dramatic title race ever. And PUMA and Manchester City will show this with the new home shirt. So let’s go through the look and design of it;
The shirt is obviously sky blue. It has an all-over print which looks like digital digits. And the reason for this can be found in the neck. Here we see the number “93:20”. The exact time for when Agüero scored the goal.The number 10 is also inverted inside the digits representing Agüero’s shirt number.
Besides this amazing detail we see a big, white blocking on the sides of the shirt. And then the PUMA logo and sponsors in white. It’s a very simple but yet very detailed shirt.
Manchester City will wear this shirt for next season. And in May 2022 it will be worn on the 10th anniversary of the amazing event. And who knows - maybe they will become English champions once again while wearing this shirt.
