Last week’s biggest news was undoubtedly PUMA and their superlight evoSPEED SL, which weighs just 103 gram. It was definitely also the stand out football boot, as we looked at what boots we saw on display during last week.

James Rodriguez (Colombia) – adidas Ace 15.1 Special Edition Before we go evoSPEED mode we simply have to start out by taking a look at adidas’ Golden Boy. James Rodriguez and his golden ACE15, which he used during the quarter final clash with Argentina, are absolutely breathtaking. The boots are entirely exclusive for James and will (unfortunately) not be for sale.

Sergio Agüero (Argentina) – PUMA evoSPEED SL (SG) Agüero is naturally among the PUMA stars, who have taken to the new lightweight football boot from the German brand. He has however gone for the SG version, which probably weighs a kilo or two more than the FG model.

Lena Goessling (Germany) – PUMA evoSPEED SL Leather Lena Goessling was another among the players, who have cracked out the lightweight evoSPEED SL. She has however chosen the leather version that weighs about 150 grams, which is absolutely insane for a leather boot.

Mana Iwabuchi & Nahomi Kawasumi (Japan) – PUMA evoSPEED 1.4 Synthetic & Leather Two national team players from Japan have, unlike Agüero and Goessling, chosen the evoSPEED 1.4. One of them rocked the synthetic and the other in leather, but both do however look like they have had some modifications made. The heel counter on Kawasumi’s leather boot is different and Iwabuchi’s upper and stud-configuration have also seen some changes.

Katrina Gorry (Australia) – PUMA evoSPEED SK Leather Katrina Gorry has like Lena Goessling also chosen the leather version of the evoSPEED SL. She has however gone for the SG model like Sergio Agüero, but with a different stud-configuration than the Argentine.

Wang Shanshan (China) – Nike Mercurial Vapor X CR7 Silverware Moving away from the evoSPEED, but staying at the Women’s World Cup in Canada. Wang Shanshan’s (awesome name alert) football boots are definitely also noteworthy. She is apparently a CR7 fan here and if you are a Cristiano supporter, then his signature colourway is the ideal choice.

Luka Milunovic (Serbia U21) – Nike Mercurial Vapor X Academy Pack For a second there I thought he was wearing the Superfly Academy Pack, but when I zoomed in it was obviously clear that it was just a pair of black socks and Vapor boots. Sneaky bugger aren’t you?

Alexander Scholz (Denmark U-21) – adidas World Cup Not often you see these boots in professional football any longer, but throughout the U21 European Championship in the Czech Republic, Alexander Scholz has been wearing the iconic adidas World Cup. Definitely worthy of a spot in our boot spots.

Bianca Schmidt (Germany) – PUMA evoPOWER (New colourway?) We round off this week’s boot spots at Germany’s last training session before getting knocked out, where Bianca Schmidt showed off a pair of new evoPOWER. Could this be the next colourway update?

This week’s boot spots were naturally dominated by the evoSPEED. Which of the evoSPEED boots will you be wearing? SL or 1.4? Share them with us on Facebook.
