Last week it was the direct duel between Fabregas and Verratti that was in focus. This week there are a further two PUMA athletes in action against each other, when Juventus take on Borussia Dortmund. In other words, the clash between Buffon and Reus.

The Champions League final in 1997 was held on the 28th of May – three days before Marco Reus’ 8th birthday and two years after Gianluigi Buffon’s professional debut in the Serie A for Parma. The final was between Juventus and Borussia Dortmund – the two gentlemen’s current clubs. A lot has happened since then – A LOT!

Back then their names didn’t carry nearly as much weight, as they do today. And they weren’t part of the PUMA family either. In this head-to-head interview we get to know Buffon and Reus a little better, even though their star-status needs no introduction.

All the same, there is still some new info to be had. Did you know that Buffon’s biggest hero is Barack Obama? And that Marco Reus thinks Denzel Washington should play him, if there ever was a film about him? Watch the interview in the video at the top of the page.

Dortmund won the final 3-1 against Juventus. The goals were scored by Karl-Heinz Riedle (2), Lars Ricken and Alessandro Del Piero. In goal for Juventus was Angelo Peruzzi and in case you were wondering, yes that’s a very young Zidane and Vieri you see in the picture. Who do you think will be the stars of the show in tonight’s modern game between Juventus and Dortmund?
