Last weekend one of the biggest derbies of the calendar year was played. No, I’m not talking about the El Clasico, I’m talking about the Derby della Unisport. To give you an idea of what boots we personally wear for the biggest games, we present a special installment boot spots.

In the Derby della Unisport (Name not yet official), the Unisport Warehouse faces off with the Unisport Office for a yearly 11-a-side, high-octane game, where the ultimate bragging rights are at stake. As you might expect with a company of footballers, there were some damn decent boot spots to be found among, which you can see right here. In addition, if you’re interested, you can read the actually pretty thrilling match report at the bottom of the blog post.

Disclaimer; some of us may be doing it, but don’t ever use FG boots on AG, because it really does ruin the boots and your joints.

Luca, WebTV host (Unisport Office) - Nike Tiempo Legend 6 Pure Platinum/Black/Hyper Orange

We kick the boot spots off with a familiar face. WebTV host Luca managed to pull a plethora of weird faces during the game, while rocking the launch colourway of the Nike Tiempo Legend 6. Luca has on several occasions proclaimed his love for leather boots and as leather boots go, the Tiempo is among the very best.

Jannicke, Norwegian customer service (Unisport Office) - adidas X 15.3 Pink/Green/Black Kids

Wearing socks 10 sizes too big, in a pair of takedowns and still putting in a well above average shift at right back was Jannicke. Completely undaunted and wearing the adidas X 15.3.

Christian, Warehouse manager (Unisport Warehouse) - Nike Hypervenom Dark Charcoal/Total Crimson

Captaining his side, dominating the midfield and showing deadly attacking prowess when he scored. CF matched the black Unisport away-kit with the second colourway released of the first generation Hypervenom. One of the very best looking colourways for one of the very best boots.

Robert (Unisport Warehouse) - Nike Mercurial Superfly IV Bright Mango/Metallic Silver/Black

Covering a lot of ground both defensively and in attack for the warehouse in the still very new Bright Mango colourway of the Nike Mercurial Superfly IV. One of the best looking colourways in the Superfly’s lifetime, which is definitely worthy of a place in our derby boot spots.

Mathias, Danish Customer Service (Unisport Office) - adidas ACE 16+ PureControl

There were a few strong contenders for Man of the Match, but in the end few could argue that Mathias was a deserving winner of the prestigious title. Wearing a pair of very dirty adidas ACE 16+ PureControl he displayed untouchable control, especially when he scored a scorcher in the 90th minute.

Marius, Brand & Marketing (Unisport Office) - adidas X 15+ SL

Only one player in the world wore these boots in a match before Marius and that was Karim Benzema. The adidas X 15+ SL were released 9 hours prior to kick-off, but that didn’t stop Marius!

Casper (Unisport Warehouse) - adidas X 15+ Primeknit Core Black/Shock Mint/White

Casper from the warehouse scored the opening goal of the game in a pair of X 15+ Primeknit. A pair of seriously good looking boots.

Mikkel, Danish Customer Service (Unisport Office) - adidas ACE 16.1

The Unisport Office’s very own Xabi Alonso. Covering immense amounts of ground and scoring from the halfway-line. Like Xabi, he even had a pair of new adidas ACE 16.1 ready for the big match. Only missing the beard now…

Mathias, Content Editor (Unisport Office) - Nike Hypervenom Phantom Neo Lime/Black/Total Crimson

Alright, I might be blowing my own horn a little here, but I featured myself in my own boot spots… Deal with it. If I may say so myself, the Unisport home-kit, Trusox and first gen Neo Lime Hypervenom combo was pretty on point. Go me!

Match report:

If you are a little interested to hear how the game actually went, then I can tell you it was a very lively and incredibly equal affair. The Warehouse managed to go 2-0 up against the run of play, before two sensational strikes leveled things just before full-time. There is a pretty competitive mindset here at Unisport, so a draw simply wouldn’t do and penalties were therefore needed to separate the two sides. The penalty shoot-out ended 5-4 in the offices favour aaaaand it was your truly who scored the winning penalty.
