The launches are currently coming in abundance, and just this week we have welcomed new boots, colourways and generations. The Adidas F50 Adizero also wants to join in on the action, and since we, earlier today, had a look at the synthetic model, it is now time to take a closer look at the Black/Infra-red/Running White leather alternative.

The Adidas F50 Adizero has made it to it's fourth generation, and ever since we saw the first instalment of the speed silo, it has been a tradition to always launch the boot in two different versions; a synthetic and a leather model. We will now be taking a closer look at the latter, which weighs in at just 203 grams and manages to combine ultimate low weight with well-known leather comfort.

You can, very soon, pre-order the Adidas F50 Adizero Black/Infra-red/Running White right here, with expected delivery in the beginning of June – just €207.

Previously, the Adidas F50 Adizero leather weighed in at an astonishing low 175 grams, which is well lighter than the new one. The reasoning behind the weight gain is, that Adidas have prioritised to use more leather on the boot, in order to optimise the comfort and also to improve the general ball touch, as the leather con provide this natural, soft and dampening effect on the ball.

Leather is, contrary to synthetic, strong enough to sustain the required stability in the boot, without the need to make use of a Sprintweb construction. It does, although, get some extra support around the heel, where we see a Sprintweb band wrapped across, thus ensuring both stability and protection.

The Adidas F50 Adizero leather version has managed to attract numerous big stars, who week after week display their trust in the boot. Professional players such as Lionel Messi, David Villa, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Arjen Robben and Luis Suarez, to mention just a few of the players who put their trust in Adidas' speed boot.

The above mentioned super stars will, in a very near future, be wearing this new colourway. As early as this weekend, we expect to see the Adidas F50 Adizero Black/Infra-red/Running White on the feet of a range of players for the weekend matches. Schweinsteiger has already given the boots an early début, as he recently wore the boots as Bayern Munich could celebrate winning the German championship.

One of the successes of the F50 Adizero is the Adidas Sprintframe outsole, which has been kept ever since the boot's début on the market. It seems that Adidas have managed to find the perfect combination of low weight, flexibility and stability. In some areas, the outsole is just 1mm thick, which proves what impressive piece of craftsmanship we are talking about.

The boot is still equipped with the Traxion 2.0 stud configuration, which we are beginning to know quite well. It takes departure in triangular studs that are divided into specific groups, each with respective tasks. These include studs that serve to maximise your kick off and acceleration, studs that for deceleration, as well as, studs the ensures that you have grip when moving sideways.

The Adidas F50 is designed for speed, and it will certainly also make you feel quick on your feet. You will even have the possibility to prove your speed, as the boot is miCoach compatible, meaning that there is space for the small chip that is able to measure and analyse your performance. Thereafter, you can connect it to your PC/Mac/iPhone and, among other things, read your top speed, number of sprints, total distance, and much more.
