If there is one thing you instantly associate with Juventus, then it’s the black and white striped kits, which have always run down the Turinese clubs kit. Now adidas take a big risk and remix the iconic stripes on the newest Juventus home-shirt. adidas are looking to make a modern statement with a club so rich in tradition.
You have to respect the courage shown by adidas when designing this, because I can imagine plenty of Juventus fans will need some time to adjust, before they can really embrace the new look. I’m not even a Juventus fan, and even I needed some getting used to it, before I actually believed it was a Juventus home-shirt.
Nonetheless, the symbolism associated with adidas wanting to give the club a modern and fresh touch actually follows the identity Juventus have tried to create on the pitch very well. With Paul Pogba and Dybala leading the way “The old lady” is very much amongst the elite of European football again.
