Not a lot time has passed since we indulged on the triple update of Umbro's football boots where every silo was clad in a combination of black and orange. If that didn't tickle your fancy, you're in luck today as the Umbro Velocita 3 has just been unveiled in a purple and turquoise colourway that is sure to hoist a lot of praise. We saw West Ham's Michail Antonio celebrate Valentine's Day with his one true love, the Velocita in the aforementioned orange colourway, and now we'll just have to wait and see whether he makes the switch to these.
The Velocita 3 is not just about great looks as it rivals every other speed boot out there in terms of performance and innovation. How so, you may ask? Let's start with the weight which tallies up to no more than 165g and this would of course make you question whether it's solely build to be light, but this is where it gets impressive. The upper is simply put revolutionary as it is comprised of two layers; an inner and an outer and they serve a distinct purpose.
The inner layer is the really interesting one seeing that it's a memory foam material that wraps around your foot, and well, yeah... Memorizes your feet and hereby gives you an unparelleled fit; comfortable and personal. To keep the boot in check and to give it stability, Umbro have fitted the Velocita with an outer layer of thin microfiber. It's thin enough to follow the movements of your foot perfectly and strong enough to give you the stability and lockdown you need.
To further improve comfort Umbro have added a very nice and cushioned heel counter that is sure to keep blisters at bay. Underneath the boot Umbro have come to the realisation that speed isn't a one-way street - it's not just about going straight but being able to switch directions and accelerate from there. The stud configuration reflects exactly that as a combination of diamond-shaped and conical studs make up the outsole. All in all a speed boot in all its glory and now it's been wrapped in a desirable colourway; all aces from Umbro!
