Iconic is the only word that does the adidas Equipment collection (commonly known as EQT) justice. adidas now dress up their TF Tango models in EQT Green, as a part of the Limited Collection. Mint mate!
The adidas EQT collection was a defining moment in adidas’ history. In the early 90’s they were lagging a bit behind and needed something radical and something bold to propel themselves into the future of footwear. At that time in fashion history, something bold didn’t mean flashy colours, it actually meant going back to the essentials and giving athletes only what they truly needed. As the EQT tagline went back then: ”Everything that’s essential. Nothing that’s not.”
Fast forward to 2017 and a world of notifications moving at light speed. adidas felt the time was once again right, to remind the world of what is truly essential. Earlier this year they reintroduced the EQT line with a new colour pallet, and this launch has now moved into the world of football with the introduction of this new Limited Collection football pack, but in the OG colours.
The adidas football Tango EQT Green pack will only be available as TF models for the ACE 17+ PureControl, Copa 17.1 and Mundial Team. All three feature soleplates that have been optimised for football on turf, short strawed artificial grass pitches, very hard grass surfaces and gravel. This has however not stopped the TF models from becoming a sneaker choice too, with especially the Mundial Team shoe proving popular. In EQT Green I haven’t got a doubt in my mind that this trend will continue.
