What "Made in Japan" means

The Made in Japan edition is made in Mizuno's main factory in Japan, where the brand also builds boots for its professional players. Mizuno says they are handcrafted by master bootmakers from high-quality materials, and that they are lasted for longer, which is meant to give a comfortable fit from the first wear.

The upper and insole board

The Alpha is a synthetic speed boot, and this edition has a revamped upper made for a close fit when you dribble at pace. The middle layer combines a specially designed knit with traditional forefoot stitching, so the boot keeps its shape around your foot. It is described as structured yet supple, with a soft on-foot feel and a precise touch for close control. Underfoot, the KaRVO RS insole board is a springy plate designed to help you accelerate.

Which surface is it made for?

The Alpha Made in Japan is made as an FG (firm ground) boot, for natural, short grass that is firm underfoot, though it can be slightly wet. It is not designed for the extra friction of artificial grass. The soleplate is always listed on the product page.
