With the phrase “Forged for greatness”, this chapter celebrates Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United from 2003-2009. On the 12th August 2003 the 18 year old Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in Manchester as the newest Red Devil. With an expectation to play in the number 28 shirt, just as he had done at his previous club. But the legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson had other ideas. Ferguson wanted Ronaldo to play in number 7, which surprised Ronald as he was well aware of the great players that had previously worn number 7. Any doubt was quickly put to rest, as Cristiano Ronaldo quickly proved himself worthy of wearing number 7. Ronaldo often describes the 5 years as a Red Devil, as the years where he truly mastered the art of the beautiful game. Not only did his technical abilities improve, his physical abilities were greatly improved. No wonder, Ronaldo was one of the key factors in Manchester United's success in those years. The club won the Premier League three times, the UEFA Champions League, the FA Cup, the English League Cup, the english Super Cup twice, and finally the FIFA Club World Cup. These remarkable years, where Cristiano Ronaldo transformed himself, is the inspiration for the 4th of 7 chapters. The gradient design; going from red to orange, ending in metallic tones reflects the forging of the metal. This is beyond a tribute to the player Cristiano Ronaldo, but also a tribute to the city of Manchester. The CR7 logo on the inside of the boot, is subdued - with the number 7 being highlighted. This is to mark his transformation, becoming the CR7 we know today. Likewise on the outer heel cap, the roman numerals XXVIII are printed - meaning 28. but the VII is highlighted, also to show his journey from being number 28 to becoming the legendary number 7.

Flyknit upper combined with Speed Rib cables
The boot has a Flyknit upper with a integrated Speed Rib technology, which is a special cable structure woven into the upper. The cables starts with being 1 mm in the back and 2,5 mm in the front foot. The purpose with this, is to create friction between the boot and the football, so you get an improved touch on the ball and a closer, more precise and natural touch when dribbling, passing or shooting in high speed. Meanwhile some of the Speed Rib cables are connected to the outsole and laces, which helps keeping your foot pressed down against the insole. This ensure an optimal lockdown, which is necessary in high pace and fast-paced quick turns, while also making the boot as responsive as possible.
The light and strong Flyknit upper is made in one piece. It is extremely flexible and moves with your foot, so it feels like one with your feet. This gives a comfort and fit which is unmatched. The tongue is removed so you get a close touch on the ball and an improved control. The upper is furthermore coated with the NikeSkin and All Conditions Control (ACC) technology. The NikeSkin secures a light, breathable and tight fit, by combining a thin PU-layer with a performance mesh. The ACC-technology is a thin coating of the upper that secures a good touch in all kinds of weather.

The Dynamic Fit Collar is the part of the boot which continues above the ankles and looks similar to a sock. This extension of the football boot is one of the most significant changes and the sock.like desing adds to keeping your feet in place.
