The new and modern stadium was build during 1999-2002 and has since been expanded in 2015. The first match ever played on this stadium was the match with Manchester City against Barcelona, where City won 2-1 and Nicolas Anelka had the pleasure of being the first ever goalscorer on this stadium. The stadium have seen fantastic players and managers such as Pep Guardiola. Furthermore, players as Sergio Agüero, David Silva and Yaya Touré has shown us their skills on this stadium and they have all played for The Citizens hunting a Premier League and Champions League titel. Etihad Stadium has also had several meaningful matches and concerts on the pitch. The 2008 UEFA cup finale with Zenit and rangers was played here, and concerts with Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Coldplay and many more was played here. Since the use of the stadium, it has become a stronghold for the club and they have won 2 Premier league titles in the club's short living span.
