What the Furon Elite is built for

The Furon is New Balance's speed boot. The Elite is built for players whose game is about quick changes of pace, sharp turns and clean finishing, and it is meant to keep that speed controllable. It suits wingers, forwards and any player who is on the move with the ball more than standing still.

What defines it

  • A Hypoknit upper that is flexible and gives a snug, second-skin fit, with a direct feel between your foot and the ball
  • Off-centre lacing that clears the strike zone, so the surface you hit the ball with is cleaner
  • A lightweight nylon soleplate with a stud configuration made for multidirectional traction
  • An extra stud placed to give support during stops and pivots

Which surface it is made for

The Furon Elite is made as an FG (firm ground) boot, which means natural, short grass that is firm underfoot, though it can be slightly wet. It is not designed for the extra friction of artificial grass. If most of your football is on artificial grass, look for an AG boot instead. The soleplate is always listed on the product page.

Fit

The Furon Elite is a close, performance-focused fit with a medium width, so it is not the narrowest speed boot around. Feet differ, so check the size guide before you order.
