Gripknit: what it does for your touch

Gripknit is a sticky texture that provides grip where you need it on the upper. The idea is more control when you strike, dribble or receive the ball, and Nike says the grip is equal in wet and dry conditions. It is the main thing that defines the Phantom 6 Elite, so it is worth knowing what you are paying attention to when you try a pair: how the ball feels on contact.

FG or AG: the plate decides where you can use it

The Elite comes with two different plates. The FG version uses a refined Cyclone 360 plate, with a circular traction pattern in the forefoot designed for planting and aggressive cuts on natural grass. The AG version swaps that for conical studs on the plate and is made for longer artificial-grass surfaces. The two are not interchangeable, so pick based on the surface you play on most. If your artificial pitch is short or hard, check the product page rather than assuming AG is the right match.

Low or high

Low-cut leaves the ankle open, while the high versions add a higher collar that sits around the ankle. Both use the Phantom 6 shoe frame, which gives a more natural fit, especially around the toe box. Fit is personal, so use the size guide and think about how you like boots to feel around the ankle.
