What the Nike Phantom 6 is built for?

The Phantom line is Nike's boot for touch, control and accurate finishing, and Phantom 6 was designed for attacking players who want precision. It follows the Phantom GX 2 and Luna 2, and Nike introduced it with players such as Erling Haaland and Alexia Putellas. If raw speed matters more to you than touch, the Mercurial is the Nike line to look at instead.

What is new with the Phantom 6?

  • A new last, with a toe box that Nike says is 3 mm shorter and 1 mm higher than on previous Phantom models
  • An upgraded Cyclone 360 plate, designed for rotational traction when you plant and turn
  • Two silhouettes: a low-cut boot, and a high version with a collar that wraps around the ankle

Sizing: how it fits

Nike says the volume of the new last means the Phantom 6 runs true to size. If you are coming from an earlier Phantom, expect a slightly shorter and higher toe box. Feet differ, so check the size guide before you order.

Which soleplate do you need?

The soleplate decides which surface a boot is made for, so settle this before anything else. The table covers the soleplates the Phantom 6 comes in, though not every one is available in every version. An FG boot is not designed for the extra friction of artificial grass.
