The Star Runner 5 is on this page in two versions. They share a name, not a closure.
The Kids version has classic laces and a pull tab on the tongue. Nike describes it as breathable and lightweight, with springy cushioning and a secure, stabilising fit.
The Little Kids version is made for younger children. Nike lists elastic laces, an adjustable hook-and-loop strap and a Dynamic Fit band around the midfoot.
In short: look for "Little Kids" or "Kids" in the product name, then compare your child's foot with the Nike size chart on that page.
A stretchy inner sleeve and pull tabs at the heel and tongue help the foot slide in. Elastic straps behind the heel and over the top of the foot keep it snug. Flex grooves in the outsole bend with each step, and sturdy foam around the heel adds grip and stability when kids change direction.
Kids' versions of two adult models are listed: the Air Zoom Pegasus 41 and the Pegasus Trail 5. Sizes are limited. The Revolution 7 and the Sonic Fly are also on the page in a few sizes.
